We are inviting visitors of all ages to our annual Science Open Day on Saturday 25 February from 10am to 4pm. The theme, Pills and Potions, is inspired by our founding father Thomas Holloway who made his fortune by selling ointments and pills.
Lucy Yeomans, our Science Outreach Officer at the College, said: “Science Open Day is a chance for us to open our doors to the local community to demonstrate our science research and the impact our work is having. It also enables us to inspire young people and challenge them to think about science in a new way. This year’s pills and potion theme is particularly exciting given our history.”
Visitors will get the chance to make their own lozenges with Procter & Gamble and there will be interactive displays from the Science Museum, National Physical Laboratory, Wellcome Trust, objects of scientific importance from the Islamic Welfare Association and Royal Holloway Collections, as well as exciting activities in our science department buildings to keep all ages entertained.
